Kurt started out in Telecoms as a Technical Trainee for London Underground, whilst studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of East London. After completing his education and successfully finishing the Technical Training Scheme, Kurt went on to deliver a number engineering projects on the TfL Network including Bank Station Modernisation, Depot Security, New Line Control Rooms and Jubilee Line Extension.
In 2002, Kurt moved to Bechtel and led the Communications Systems Delivery at Ashford and Swanscombe for Sections 1 and 2 of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, commonly known as High Speed 1 today.
Founding KBTL in 2006, Kurt went on to work directly on the London Underground Connect Project and the Crossrail Project, before taking on a full time leadership role within KBTL.
Kurt has previously held positions on the IET Board of Assessors and the LU Apprentice Scheme Advisor Panel. Kurt is also a Licensed Prince2 Practitioner, Six Sigma certified and NGC NEBOSH certified.
Peter has been involved in the telecommunications industry for over 40 years during this time, successfully achieving an BSc (Hons) and MSc in Telecommunications Networks.
Peter joined the Royal Navy as an Artificer Apprentice and once qualified served in the submarine service. Upon leaving the Royal Navy Peter joined BAE Systems as a Chief Systems Engineer involved in the development and deployment of command-and-control systems for Police and Fire services.
Peter has held senior technical management positions on numerous projects including Alcatel Submarine Networks, Pan European Crossing network deployment, Global Subsea Fibre network delivery, London Underground Connect Project, Vodafone backhaul network upgrade and the Crossrail project.
David started with the Railtrack Graduate scheme following completion of a MEng in Electronic Engineering with Optoelectronic System Design in 2002. David has continued to work in the railway telecoms industry across multiple projects, serving both the client and delivery organisations.
After Network Rail, David worked at a number of delivery organisations including TEW Plus, Journeo, Balfour Beatty Rail and Crossrail. During this time David worked as a Rail Telecoms Designer and an approved Design and Installation CRE for both SISS and Ops Comms continuing to deliver multiple projects in the Rail Industry. David has worked on notable projects such as Abbey Wood Station Upgrade, Crossrail, Multiple Access for All (AFA) Schemes and Major Station SISS Renewals.
Chris studied IT and began his career working a number of procurement roles in local government. Chris then went on to join Bechtel, supporting their bespoke, in-house Procurement Systems, but soon moved into a Project Controls and Planning role, working on a number of global projects in Romania, The Middle East and Africa.
Following his return to the UK, Chris had a brief stint with Network Rail before joining Crossrail in 2012, seeing the project through to opening and beginning his involvement with KBTL.
